Elizabeth Voss came to ResDAC in April 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education from North Dakota State University and a Master of Public Health from Walden University. Her previous work experience includes knowledge in grant management and health promotion program development and delivery.
Kendra Komoto has been with ResDAC since June 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Community and Global Health from Macalester College, and an MPH in Epidemiology from Columbia University.
Jennifer Koper has been an Executive Advisor at ResDAC since spring of 2016. She recieved her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Minnesota and has over 15 years of experience in a small national survey research firm with a focus on health care research. In addition to office administration, she assisted research staff with tasks ranging from study design to report writing. As the HIPAA Privacy Officer, she developed policies, procedures, and training for compliance regarding health care research data.
Dr. Tetyana Shippee is a social gerontologist with a Dual-Title PhD in Sociology and Gerontology from Purdue University. Dr. Shippee's substantive areas of expertise pertain to long-term care and disparities in health care. Her most recent work focuses on quality of life in nursing homes and other long-term care settings, and has used the CMS assessment data in the context of her research. She has a strong methodological background in using survey and claims data as well as categorical data analysis, longitudinal analyses, and generalized linear models.
Dr. Peter Huckfeldt received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis and his Bachelor of Arts from Rice University. From 2009-2014 he was an associate and full economist at the RAND Corporation. His research focuses on health care organization, payment, and delivery; the economics of chronic disease management; and health insurance benefit design. He joined the faculty of the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, Division of Health Policy and Management in 2014. In June 2020, he was named the Vernon E.
Dr. Nathan Shippee earned his Masters in Science and Ph.D. in Sociology from Purdue University. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the Minnesota State Univeristy - Moorhead. After completing a Fulbright research fellowship, he worked as a Research Fellow, and then Assistant Professor, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Shippee is a sociologist and outcomes researcher. His research focuses on how social and clinical factors complicate care and outcomes for patients with chronic conditions.
Dr. Beth Virnig is the Dean and Robert G Frank Endowed Professor at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions. Previously, she was at the University of Minnesota from 1997-2022. Her leadership roles included Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research in the School of Public Health and Principal Investigator and Director of ResDAC. She has over 25 years of experience working with Medicare data and has taught graduate level courses on the use of administrative data.
