Dr. Beth Virnig is a professor and the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research at the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health and has been at the University of Minnesota since 1997. She has over 20 years of experience working with Medicare data and has taught graduate level courses on the use of administrative data. Beth specializes in several research areas including cancer care and outcomes, end-of-life care, quality of care, Medicare managed care and access to care issues. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Carleton College, Beth went on to earn both her MPH and PhD in epidemiology from the University of Minnesota.
