Monthly Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) indicator. January through December. If Medicare monthly buyin (E_BUYIN_<M>)is equal to '3' or 'C' and the monthly HMO indicator is '0' or 4' then FFS. If monthly HMO is '1' or '2' then cost based and if monthly HMO is 'A', 'B', or 'C' then 'risk-based'.
