Requesting MCBS Data

CMS considers the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS) a Limited Data Set (LDS). For a description of LDS data, click here.

ResDAC is required to review all request materials for MCBS data for completeness and accuracy. ResDAC will submit the request electronically to CMS on the researcher's behalf.

Select from the following types of MCBS data requests:

NEW STUDY

Select this request type if requesting data for a new data use agreement (DUA). This includes:

requests for new data files

requests for reuse of data files from an existing DUA.

AMENDMENT to EXISTING STUDY

Select this request type to amend your existing data use agreement (DUA). This includes:

requests for personnel or data security changes

requests for additional data
